January has been busier than usual. The OREB stats are in and we can see why. OREB President - Dwight Delahunt, stated it best! “Based on last month’s sales, I’d say we go with Wiarton Willie’s prediction - it will likely be an early spring for the real estate market as well.”

With spring just around the corner, if you have been thinking of listing your home this year, here are a few important points to consider:
Make any necessary repairs - It's time to fix all those little things we have become "blind" to in our homes. You know all the little things that you have maybe been putting off. Could the front door use a fresh coat of paint? How does the caulking look around your sinks and tubs? Take time to examine your home with a buyers eye and see what can be freshened up.
Boost your curb appeal - After a long winter a yard can look drab and tired and winter's grime has settled just about everywhere. A great impression starts from the outside. Power wash the exterior, have all the windows cleaned inside and out, repair & paint any worn trim, tidy up the lawn and plantings.
Declutter - The more of your personal items you remove the more likely a buyer is able to picture themselves in your home. You are going to have to pack eventually once you sell so why not start now and box up as much as you can of your curios, seasonal items, excess furniture and all personal items. This is a great time do a real spring clean and sort what goes with you and what is headed for the donation bins.
Deep Clean - Whether you do it yourself or hire a professional it is important to deep clean your home thoroughly. Avoid fresheners and neutralize any odours. When everything is sparkling and shining it is bound to feel welcoming
Stage - Feel stuck for ideas? We work with a professional stager who would be happy to help you get organized prior to the showings. The trick now is that you will need to remove the emotion you feel for your home and view it as a product that needs to be as appealing as possible to a buyer.
